Factsheet – Transforming Public Policy Outcomes: Harnessing Multisectoral Collaboration Through a Health in All Policies Approach
This factsheet highlights the strategic value of multisectoral approaches in policymaking and introduces the World Health Organization’s 4 Pillars Model as an example of a practical tool and checklist. Developed by members of the Global Network for Health in All Policies, it emphasizes how multisectoral collaboration, central to the Health in All Policies (HiAP) approach, enables governments to design effective and comprehensive policies by leveraging expertise across sectors, reducing duplication, and maximizing the impact of investments.
The 4 Pillars Model provides policymakers with a practical tool to embed health across sectors, tackle institutional challenges, strengthen accountability, and apply systems thinking to complex issues.
